Common Threads for Inclusive Education (ATA)
In collaboration with the Council for Inclusive Education, a new resource series, Common Threads for Inclusive Education, continues to be developed to support the implementation of the new Teaching Quality Standard and Leadership Quality Standard specific to inclusive education. Each of the resources contain background information, teaching strategies and further resources specific to the topics and are designed to be entry points to further learning.

Establishing Inclusive Learning Environments: Collaborative Professional Learning Activities (ATA)
The purpose of this collaborative professional growth program is to support the development of professional knowledge and skills, consistent with the Teaching Quality Standard and Competency #4—establishing inclusive learning environments.
Inclusive Education Library
Contains information and resources connected to core subjects, behaviour/social participation, medical conditions and disabilities information, student support plans, instructional strategies and supports, learning technologies, and professional learning. Core subject info is based on the former program of studies/curriculum but still has some relevant info.

Transitional Vocational Program at MRU
The Employment Preparation Certificate program was also established in 1980 and has, with continuous development, evaluation and change, supported students to find and maintain competitive employment. Through excellence, innovation and leadership, the full-time Employment Preparation Certificate program has become highly regarded and socially valued. Entrance into this program can be very competitive.
The Transitional Vocational Program also offers part-time studies. Courses include Functional Literacy and Math; Computers, Tablets and Smartphones; Learner's Licence Test Preparation; Life Skills; Introduction to Computer Coding; Graphic Design; Basic Living Skills; Personal Safety; Understanding the World Today; The Wonderful World of Music; Standard First Aid (accommodated), and Eating Right, Living Right. All courses are taught by certified instructors and focus on individual student learning goals.
Special Olympics Calgary
For students or volunteer
Special Olympics Calgary is a local chapter of Special Olympics Alberta, dedicated to providing sports training and competitive opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities in Calgary. Through inclusive, year-round programs—ranging from athletics and swimming to basketball, skiing, and more—participants develop physical fitness, build confidence, and foster meaningful friendships within a supportive, community-focused environment.

To foster professional development through membership activities and services.
To provide advice and expertise to the Alberta Teachers' Association on curriculum, teacher practice, and working conditions.
